Our Year of the Dog!

From the hills of Cougar Mountain to the shores of Puget Sound, our family has returned to find a home in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. After our move from Southern California, our search for the perfect dog began. Everyone had a requirement: “I want a small dog that is not yappy and not hyper," said my husband. “I want a dog that will not make me sneeze," said my son. My request was for a non-shedding dog...a wonderful companion. Did this perfect little dog exist? As I searched the many different breeds on the internet I stumbled upon the Bolognese. This breed was perfect.

Once I discovered the breed, the next challenge was to find a female pup. Our search connected us to many wonderful breeders, but none had female puppies. I now understood what “rare breed” meant. There are only about 2,000 of these precious dogs in the US.

Our wait was 6 months and we welcomed Pearl and Jasmine into our home and the beginning of Bolognese Northwest.
